Thomas Cook launches summer 2019 holidays with Jamaica as its latest long haul destination

Thomas Cook has today announced that customers will be able to book their summer 2019 holiday from tomorrow (1 March), and that package holidays and flights to the laid back island of Jamaica have been re-introduced for those looking for a Caribbean break.

Last featured in 2015, Thomas Cook has re-introduced flights and holidays to Jamaica following customer feedback, and to offer more choice to holidaymakers looking for an affordable, quality holiday to the Caribbean. Thomas Cook Airlines will be operating a weekly flight from Manchester to Montego Bay between May and October 2019.

Known as the birthplace of reggae legend Bob Marley, Brits travelling to Jamaica with Thomas Cook will be able to choose from a range of popular hotels that are suitable for both families and couples, including Moon Palace, Hilton Rose Hall and Grand Bahia Principe Jamaica. Four of the hotels being offered feature in Trip Advisor’s top 25 all inclusive resorts for the Caribbean and three of them are in Trip Advisors’ top 25 hotels for families in the Caribbean.

Jamaica is known for its relaxed way of life, but those looking for adventure will not be disappointed, with a zip line through a rain forest, bobsleighing down the Mystic Mountains and even swimming in a glow in the dark lagoon being among the activities on offer.

Thomas Cook has also announced additional regional flying for the launch of summer 2019, with new flights and holidays from Cardiff and Belfast to Tunisia and the extension of Manchester to Marrakech.

Chris Mottershead, Managing Director at Thomas Cook UK, said: “We are delighted to be launching our summer 2019 holidays this early, with even more choice for our customers looking to travel further afield thanks to the addition of Jamaica. We know that many of our customers like to return to the same hotel each year, or travel on particular dates, so being able to book early means they can make sure they get the holiday that best suits them. We’ve also added more regional flights for summer 2019, making it even easier to get away locally to places like Tunisia which is once again proving popular as an affordable holiday.”

Christoph Debus, Chief Airlines Officer at Thomas Cook Airlines, said: “We are excited to be launching new Summer 2019 routes for our customers looking for both flights and package holidays. Our return to Montego Bay increases our growing number of long haul routes and we are pleased to be adding more regional flights like Belfast and Cardiff to Tunisia and we expect to further add to our programme in the coming months. We are looking forward to welcoming both new and existing customers to our airline in 2019.”

Today’s announcement is also joined by the £0 deposit buy now pay later announcement, allowing customers to book breaks for summer 2019 with no upfront payment, as well as helping them spread the cost with monthly direct debit payments. Customers choosing to travel to Jamaica with Thomas Cook next summer will be able to take advantage of this new service with holidays booked in advance*.
