On sale Thursday (31st), flights to Dubrovnik will operate on a Sunday and Wednesday from Manchester with Thomas Cook Airlines.
Customers will initially be able to choose from eight hotels on the Dubrovnik coast ranging from three-star to five-star and all within easy reach of Dubrovnik itself. This includes the newly renovated 5* Valamar Dubrovnik President Hotel which boasts fantastic views thanks to its beachfront location. Half an hour away from the city by bus is the quaint town of Cavtat. Its old-worldly feel, with a Renaissance old town and small pebble beaches and coves is sure to be a hit with holidaymakers who can stay at the 3* Hotel Cavtat.
For those wanting to explore island life then the small and car-free island of Lopud is just a short ferry ride from Dubrovnik and the 4* Lafodia Sea Resort is the perfect choice for holidaymakers looking for a tranquil getaway. Thomas Cook is also offering hotels in the picturesque Mlini resort, the Babin Kuk Pensinusla area, as well as the naturally beautiful village of Slano to the north of Dubrovnik. Shorter breaks from three nights will be available in selected hotels in addition to longer package holidays.
Often referred to as the Pearl of the Adriatic, the medieval city of Dubrovnik itself is not to be missed. Its pedestrianised Old Town is hugely popular and hosts a number of cultural and music festivals throughout the summer. Visitors can take in some of the best views of the city and coastline by walking along the ancient city walls. For the Game of Thrones fans, there is even a dedicated tour to explore the many scenes and hear behind-the-scenes stories from the filming of the TV series.
Today's announcement is coupled with the news that Thomas Cook is increasing its capacity into Split for summer 2018 with the introduction of two Thomas Cook Airlines' flights from London Gatwick and an additional flight from Manchester. Further package holiday options from Bristol and Glasgow are also available.
Chris Mottershead, Managing Director at Thomas Cook UK said: “We introduced Croatia for the first time this summer and the variety it offers has been extremely popular with holidaymakers. To meet this growing demand we are delighted to not only be introducing package holidays to the Dubrovnik coast next summer, but we are also increasing our capacity into Split by over 40%.”
Christoph Debus, Chief Airlines Officer at Thomas Cook Airlines added: “The short flight time to Croatia makes it the perfect destination for both a long weekend break as well as a main summer holiday. Our new flights into Dubrovnik mean customers will now be able to explore a new area of this beautiful country, as well as travel from more UK airports with the introduction of flights to Split from London Gatwick and an additional one from Manchester.”
