Thomas Cook Airlines' first flight to Hurghada takes off on Friday

On Friday morning (9 February 2018), Thomas Cook Airlines’ inaugural flight to Hurghada, Egypt departs from East Midlands Airport.

Thomas Cook Airlines carry 400,000 customers to and from East Midlands Airport to 18 European destinations each year and has two A321 aircraft based permanently at the airport.

The 5 hour 15 minute direct flight operates weekly on a Friday on the Airbus A321 from 9 February 2018 to 27 April 2018. Flights increase to twice weekly (adding Tuesday) from November 2018 for the Winter 18/19 season. Friday’s inaugural flight is fully booked.

Henry Sunley, Commercial Director at Thomas Cook Airlines said, “We are thrilled to add flights from East Midlands Airport to Hurghada this winter season. Across the UK we have increased our seat capacity by 14 per cent to Egypt this year, flying to both Hurghada and Marsa Alam.”
